We're hiring for a Promotions Coordinator.
This is a part-time leadership learning position, with a $420/mo. stipend, for PSU students taking 8 or more credits. The required time commitment is 10-12 hours/week, 2 of which must coincide with the Program Coordinator's office hours. Qualifications include promotional and marketing experience or education, graphic design, web design, desktop publishing, and advertisement experience. We're hoping to find a music-loving individual motivated to make every event of ours a well-attended success, and to bring our group innovative, ear-catching public attention. The requirements and duties are as follows:
- Updating the PMB's website and promotional calendars
- Making paper advertisements (newspaper, flyers, etc.)
- Making audio advertisements for radio play
- Designing group graphics, and contracting outside groups for design/promotion
- Maintaining office hours that coincide with those of the program coordinator, and keeping records of work
- Help us devise strategies to get noticed
Most importantly this is a part-time LEADERSHIP position. Much of the work will be self-directed, but your goal should always be to get us noticed, and to make sure that each event is well-attended. Your creative promotional ideas, your communication skills, and your artistic flare will be your most valuable assets. Interested applicants who meet the qualifications should submit a cover letter and resume to the SALP office (first floor of the Smith Center). The deadline to apply is July 14th, and interviews will be held July 15th and 16th. This is a one-year leadership position, and you must reapply in one year to be considered for longer than a one-year term of employment.
